Hickory Man Charged With Heroin Possession, ID Theft

39-year-old Joshua Aaron Gibbs of 17th Street NW in Hickory was arrested Saturday (January 8) by Hickory Police Officers. He’s charged with felony counts of possession of heroin, identity theft, possession of a counterfeit instrument, currency, or check, and obtaining property by false pretense along with a misdemeanor count of resisting a public officer. Gibbs is also charged with failure to appear on felony counts of possession of a stolen motor vehicle, probation violation, attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, and breaking and entering along with a misdemeanor count of assault with a deadly weapon.

Gibbs was jailed in the Catawba County Detention Facility under $41,000 bond. District Court appearances were scheduled Monday (January 10) and January 31. Superior Court dates are set for February 21 and February 24.
