Hickory Man Charged with Felony Habitual Larceny

58-year-old David Wayne Cantrell of 14th Avenue N.E. in Hickory was arrested by Hickory Police at about 10:15 Sunday morning (October 17) for habitual felony larceny or shoplifting, along with two misdemeanor counts of misdemeanor larceny. The felony warrant was dated October 17, while the misdemeanor warrants were issued on September 13 and October 2. According to H.P.D., Cantrell stole food from a business.

Cantrell was taken into custody without incident at the Hickory Police Department. He was processed and given a $12,000 secured bond. He was later released after a bondsman posted bail. Cantrell was scheduled to appear in District Court yesterday (October 18) in Newton with additional court dates on the misdemeanor charges coming up on October 25, December 9, and December 14.
