26-year-old Demarcus Marquise Beatty of 2nd Street Drive SW in Hickory was arrested last Friday (April 7) by Hickory Police Officers. He’s charged with felony counts of possession of schedule II controlled substance and probation violation out of county.

Beatty is on probation as a result of a conviction in September, 2019 in Catawba County for felony larceny from a person. He received probation and a suspended sentence following the conviction.

Following last week’s arrest, Beatty was jailed in the Catawba County Detention Facility under $17,500 bond. He remained in jail as of earlier today (April 13). A Superior Court appearance was scheduled today, a District Court date is set for April 25.
