46-year-old Rodney Christopher Garland of Cape Hickory Road in Hickory was arrested Thursday (February 16) by Morganton Public Safety Officers. He’s charged with felony possession of schedule II controlled substance along with misdemeanor counts of resist, obstruct, or delay a public officer and driving during revocation.

Garland was arrested shortly after 9:30 p.m. Thursday when he was stopped at a police checking station on North Terrace Place in Morganton. Police reportedly seized 8.3 grams of methamphetamine during the arrest. Garland was incarcerated in the Burke County Jail under $10,000 secured bond. A District Court appearance was scheduled today (February 17) in Morganton.
