36-year-old Darro Kahlil Sharif of 8th Avenue Circle SE in Hickory was arrested Tuesday (April 25) on charges filed by the Hickory Police Department and Catawba County Sheriff’s Office. He’s charged by Hickory Police with felony possession with intent to sell and deliver counterfeit controlled substance along with misdemeanor counts of possession of marijuana up to one-half ounce and possession of drug paraphernalia. The Sheriff’s Office charged Sharif with two counts of non-support of a child.

Following the arrest, Sharif was jailed in the Catawba County Detention Facility under $14,000 bond. A District Court appearance was scheduled Tuesday. A Civil District Court date is scheduled Thursday (April 27).
