59-year-old Jesus Salazar of 11th Street NW in Hickory was arrested Saturday (October 21) by Hickory Police Officers. He’s charged with felony counts of assault with a deadly weapon on a government official and possession of methamphetamine. Salazar was also charged with misdemeanor counts of resisting a public officer, second-degree trespass, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Salazar was incarcerated in the Catawba County Detention Facility under $20,000 bond. He remained in jail as of earlier today (October 23). A District Court appearance is scheduled next Monday (October 30).
