IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. (WHKY) – A 23-year-old Hickory man has been charged in connection with a shooting on Interstate 77 in Mooresville that left two people critically injured. The suspect is J’Kobe Tre’shon Ramseur.

According to a news release from the Mooresville Police Department, the shooting was reported at approximately 4:30 p.m. Sunday, July 26, on the I-77 Exit 35 ramp. When Mooresville Police officers arrived, they found two victims inside a vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers provided emergency medical care before both victims were transported to Carolinas Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Detectives secured the scene and searched the interstate for evidence, using the department’s Firearm and Explosive Detection K-9 to help locate shell casings.

Investigators later determined that both victims had been shot from inside the vehicle. As a result, J’Kobe Tre’shon Ramseur of Hickory, who was a passenger in the vehicle, has been charged with attempted first-degree murder.
