A Hickory man was arrested Sunday, (May 17) after police say he stabbed a person inside a public restroom.

According to authorities, 50-year-old Ruben Brad Jackson of 1st Avenue SE in Hickory is charged with assault with a deadly weapon, felony possession of methamphetamine, and possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance.

Police say the victim suffered a non-life-threatening injury in the stabbing. Jackson (pictured) was taken into custody by Hickory Police and was being held in the Catawba County Detention Facility without bond. He is scheduled to make an initial appearance Monday in Catawba County District Court in Newton.
