29-year-old Jacob Mark Gwaltney of Alexander Heritage Drive in Hickory was arrested by Hickory Police Saturday (February 18) on a charge of felony possession of a schedule II controlled substance. He was taken into custody without incident at about 1:20 Saturday afternoon at a residential address on 2nd Street S.E. in Hickory. Gwaltney was jailed in the Catawba County Detention Facility with bond set at $2,000, secured. He was no longer listed as an inmate in Catawba County as of earlier today (February 22). A first appearance in District Court was scheduled this past Monday (February 20) in Newton with his next court date coming up on March 13.
