45-year-old Rosalino Esperilla Vallejo of “C” Avenue S.E. in Hickory was arrested by Hickory Police late Saturday night (October 28) on felony counts of first-degree kidnapping and assault inflicting serious injury, including strangulation. He was also charged with misdemeanor assault on a female.

Vallejo was taken into custody without incident at 10:35 p.m. Saturday at his residence. He was placed in the Catawba County Detention Facility where he was initially held without bond. Vallejo was no longer listed as an inmate in Catawba County as of earlier today (November 1). He was scheduled to make a first appearance in District Court Monday (October 30) in Newton with another court date coming up on November 20.
