33-year-old Stephen Ray Mitchem of 13th Avenue N.E. in Hickory was arrested by Hickory Police yesterday (October 16) on a felony fugitive warrant. Mitchem is wanted by authorities in Anderson County, South Carolina for a sex offense. No additional information is available.

Following his arrest, Mitchem was jailed in the Catawba County Detention Facility where he is being held without bond. A first appearance in District Court was scheduled today in Newton.
