Hickory Man Arrested for Probation Violation Following Aug. 2021 Conviction

43-year-old Daniel Wayne Wood of South Fork Avenue in Hickory was arrested by Hickory Police Saturday afternoon (September 18) for a felony probation violation. Wood is on probation as he serves a 30-month suspended sentence following a conviction last month (August 2021) in Catawba County on felony counts of breaking & entering and larceny.

Wood was taken into custody without incident at about 12:15 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of 2nd Avenue S.E. and Lenoir-Rhyne Boulevard S.E. in Hickory. He was processed at the Hickory Police Department and later released under a $20,000 unsecured bond. An appearance in District Court was scheduled yesterday (September 20) in Newton with a Superior Court date coming up on November 18.
