59-year-old Robert Daniel Shelton of 20th Avenue S.W. in Hickory has been arrested by Brookford Police on a pair of felony fugitive warrants. Shelton is wanted in Jasper, Indiana in Spencer County for rape while threatening the use of deadly force or by using a deadly weapon inflicting serious bodily injury or by furnishing the victim with a drug without the victim’s knowledge. Shelton is also wanted in Owensboro, Kentucky in Daviess County for kidnapping an adult and first-degree sexual abuse.

Shelton was arrested Friday (March 24) and placed in the Catawba County Detention Facility where he is being held without bond on the warrant from Indiana. Bond on the warrant from Kentucky was set at $250,000, secured. He remained in jail as of this afternoon (March 27). A first appearance in District Court was scheduled today in Newton.
