HICKORY, N.C. — Frye Regional Medical Center has earned the American College of Cardiology’s HeartCARE Center National Distinction of Excellence for the sixth consecutive year.

According to Frye Regional Medical Center, the hospital is the only facility in western North Carolina and one of just three hospitals statewide to receive the recognition.

The designation recognizes hospitals and health systems that demonstrate excellence in evidence-based cardiovascular care, quality improvement and patient-centered outcomes.

Hospital officials say the award reflects years of dedication from physicians, nurses and support staff working to advance heart care across the region.

In addition to the HeartCARE Center distinction, Frye has received numerous recognitions from the American Heart Association, Healthgrades, U.S. News & World Report and The Joint Commission for its cardiovascular services.

As a Duke Health Affiliate in Heart, Frye offers advanced cardiovascular care, including valve repair and replacement procedures, heart failure treatment and interventional cardiology services.
