Hickory FC Pulls Out Win in Waning Moments

Hickory FC scored the first goal, gave up the next two, and then scored the final two goals in stoppage time to take a remarkable 3-2 win over Bristol Rhythm AFC on the road Saturday night.

Hickory FC scored a goal in the the third minute, John Osadolor scored three minutes into the match, but was matched one minute later by Bristol Rhythm AFC who also would be assessed two yellow cards in the first half.

It looked bleak for Hickory when Bristol scored a goal in the 86th minute. However, Diego Fernandez found an equalizer two minutes into stoppage time.

Then a minute later in the stoppage time, Tomas Pollacchi scored the game winner with a strike whizzing to the left of the Bristol goalie.

The win improves Hickory FC to second place in the National Premiere Soccer League’s Southeast Division with 19 points. Hickory has six wins, two losses and a draw on the season. The win has clinched a playoff spot for Hickory FC. They will look to clinch a home playoff game should they win in the season finale Saturday at 865 Alliance in Knoxville.
