Hickory Crawdads Wrap Up Homestand With Loss to Hudson Valley

The Hickory Crawdads lost 6-0 on Sunday afternoon to the Hudson Valley Renegades, going 2-4 on the homestand.

Winston Santos got the start for the ‘Dads, allowing three runs. Gavin Collyer entered in the third, giving up a run before getting out of the inning.

A storm passed through in the bottom of the third, delaying the game for nearly an hour and a half.

Hudson Valley added on in the sixth and seventh, bringing the score to 6-0.

The Crawdads managed only four hits on the afternoon.

Cam Cauley singled in the first and stole second base, his fifth steal since joining the team last week. Cauley has picked up a hit in his last six games with the ‘Dads and raised his batting average to .308.

Geisel Cepeda singled in the fourth and Abimelec Ortiz also singled in the eighth. Yosy Galan doubled with two outs in the ninth for the first extra base hit of the game.

The Crawdads will hit the road for two weeks before returning on Tuesday, August 15th. They will go to Aberdeen (Maryland) this week before heading to Asheville for six games.
