Hickory Crawdads Winning Streak Snapped

Despite a furious rally in the seventh inning, the Hickory Crawdads fell to the Greenville Drive 6-4 to wrap up the road trip in South Carolina on Sunday.

Greenville scored three runs in the first inning against Crawdads starter Josh Stephan. He would be lifted after facing seven batters and getting two outs. Spencer Mraz gave up the other three runs in the fourth inning.

The Crawdads made the contest interesting with a four run seventh inning. Alejandro Osuna singled to open the inning. After a strikeout, a wild pitch advanced Osuna to second. He came home on a Chris Seise home run to right field. After a Keyber Rodriguez fly out notched the second out of the inning, the rally would continue for Hickory. Evan Carter walked and then Frainyer Chavez launched a home run over the right field wall for his second home run of the season.

Hickory would only manager four hits in the contest. Seise would add a single to his home run.

The Crawdads fall to 18-24 on the second half of the season, 56-52 overall. Hickory is off on Monday and returns home to L.P. Frans Stadium on Tuesday to host the Winston-Salem Dash for six games.
