Hickory Crawdads Win Streak Pushes to 15

The Hickory Crawdads kept their win streak going on Thursday night against Winston-Salem, with a 10-6 win in the resumption of Wednesday night ‘s game and then winning 7-2 in the regular scheduled contest.

In the first contest, the game resumed in the top of the third inning with the Crawdads down 4-3. Winston-Salem would add two more runs in fifth, but Hickory would respond in the sixth inning with an RBI single by Yosy Galan.

In the seventh, Hickory got an RBI double from Keyber Rodriguez. With one away, Geisel Cepeda tied the contest with an RBI single. The Crawdads put the game away in the top of the ninth with Max Acosta nailing a double that scored two and the Crawdads finished with a 10-6 win.

It was all Crawdads in the second game, as Hickory jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning, thanks to an RBI single by Acosta. The Dash responded with a pair of runs in the home half of the first inning.

The Crawdads responded in the top of the second when Frainyer Chavez hit a solo home run and Tucker Mitchell added a two run home run. Hickory pulled out a 4-2 lead that they would not relinquish.

Hickory starter Winston Santos nearly went the full seven innings. He pitched 6.2 innings, allowing only two hits, two runs, and striking out six.

Hickory is a remarkable 12-0 on the second half of the season and have won 15 straight, extending the program best. The Crawdads remain on the road against Winston-Salem this weekend.
