The Hickory Crawdads were shut out on the road against Bowling Green, 5-0 Wednesday night. The contest was a pitchers dual through the first five innings. The Hot Rods scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning and added an insurance run in the seventh.

Aaron Zavala had one of those five hits and was walked once.

The loss drops the Crawdads to 5-6 on the second half of the season, 43-34 overall. Hickory stays on the road taking on Bowling Green through Sunday.
