Hickory Crawdads Lose Opener to Asheville Tourists

The Hickory Crawdads opened up their six-game road series against the Asheville Tourists, falling 4-2.

Hickory jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the fourth inning. Luisangel Acuna singled to open the inning and then stole second base. Trevor Hauver would ground out but moved Acuna to third. Cristian Inoa single to score Acuna. Keyber Rodriguez walked and Thomas Saggese would single, allowing Inoa to score.

However, that would be all of the scoring for the Crawdads as Hickory would only have four hits after that point.

Meanwhile, the Tourists scored three in the home half of the fourth inning, and added an insurance run in the eighth.

Hickory is 27-19 on the season. They face Asheville the rest of the week on the road.
