The Hickory Crawdads fell to the Salem RidgeYaks, 3-1 Tuesday on the road. The game was called due to rain with two out in the top of the 6th and a 0-0 count on Josh Springer.

The Crawdads managed only four hits in this contest. In the second inning, Marcos Torres singled on a bunt to third base. Torres would then still second. One out later Deward Tovar singled, allowing Torres to score, and tie the game at one as the RidgeYaks scored in the bottom of the first inning.

In the third inning, Angel Arredondo doubled to open the inning. However, he was left stranded. In the top of the sixth, Hector Osorio singled as the first batter of the inning. Osorio was out at second after a force out by Paulino Santana. After getting to first, Santana stole second before Torres struck out swinging in a raging downpour. The umpires ordered the teams off the field and the game then went into a 40-minute rain delay before finally being called final.

Hickory is 25-19 on the first half of the season. They will be on the road in Virginia to take on Salem the remainder of this week.
