The Hickory Crawdads scored four runs in the first inning, and would cruise to an 8-2 win over the Winston-Salem Dash Wednesday night.

In the eighth inning, Zavala was hit by a pitch and Christian Inoa singled. Carter then hit a double, scoring two, but Carter was thrown out at third.

Ben Anderson got the win on the mound for the Crawdads. He pitched five innings, allowing five hits and two runs while striking out three and walking only one. John Matthews then pitched the next three innings, alllowing no hits or runs and striking out five while walking only two. Eudrys Manon pitched the ninth inning, allowing a lone walk.
