Hickory Crawdads Fall in Rain Shortened Event
The Hickory Crawdads fell to the Greenville Drive 5-0 on Saturday night in a game that was called after six innings due to storms.
Greenville took the lead thanks to solo homers in the first and third inning. They added on three more in the fifth to take a 5-0 lead.
Jose Corniell tossed 4.1 innings and was charged with all five runs. Leury Tejada recorded two outs and Andy Rodriguez pitched the final frame. Rodriguez also pitched a scoreless top of the seventh inning, but with the storms hitting before the Crawdads got a chance to hit in the bottom half of the inning, the game was called an official game through six.
The Crawdads offense was still looking to break open, with Keyber Rodriguez and Yosy Galan picking up the only hits for the Crawdads.
