Hickory Crawdads Fall Again to Hudson Valley
The Hickory Crawdads put a ninth inning rally together on Friday night but couldn’t come close to erasing the early deficit, losing 11-2 to the Hudson Valley Renegades.
The Renegades took control of the game early on, taking a three-run lead in the second. They added on four in the third, one in the fourth, and three in the sixth to take an 11-0 lead.
For the first seven innings, the Crawdads managed just two baserunners, getting a single from Maximo Acosta in the second and a walk by Yosy Galan in the third.
Angel Aponte hit a two out double in the eighth, giving the Crawdads their first runner in scoring position of the night.
The Crawdads got on the board in the ninth, scoring twice. Jayce Easley started the inning off with a nine-pitch walk. Cam Cauley doubled to put two runners in scoring position. Tucker Mitchell singled to center, bringing in both runs. The next two batters were retired, bringing the game to an end.
Saturday night will feature a Christian Concert by NewSong. The game will have a special 5pm first pitch and the concert will begin roughly 30 minutes after the conclusion of the game.
