Hickory Crawdads Drop Third Straight Road Game

The Hickory Crawdads lost their third straight game to the Aberdeen IronBirds on the road Friday, 6-4.

Hickory opened with a pair of runs scored. Alejandro Osuan singled on the fourth pitch of the game. Two outs later, Sebastian Walcott tripled allowing Osuna to score. A wild pitch then gave Walcott the green light to take home, and an early 2-0 lead. However, Aberdeen scored a pair of runs as well in the first, and then take a 4-2 lead with another pair of runs in the second inning.

The Crawdads scored a run in the fourth inning. Yeison Morrobel singled and moved to third on Walcott’s double. Luis Mieses then hit a sacrifice fly to center field that allowed Morrobel to score.

Hickory tied the game in the fifth. With one away, Jayce Easley was walked. He advanced to second on a bal. He then stole third base and also stole home for a 4-4 contest.

The IronBirds scored two runs in the seventh and held Hickory off the board for a 6-4 win.

Walcott had two of the six Crawdads hits in the game. He also had an RBI.

Hickory drops to 26-35 on the first half of the season. They play Aberdeen Saturday and Sunday.
