A Luisangel Acuna single and Evan Carter single would be followed with a walk to Cody Freeman to load the bases. Cristian Inoa would then be issued a walk in five pitches, allowing Acuna to score for the Crawdads first run.

Bowling Green would respond with three runs each in the seventh and eighth innings. Hickory would add three runs in the top of the ninth. Acuna opened the inning with a four-pitch walk. Two batters later, Carter was walked. With two outs, Inoa hit his fifth home run of the season, a fly ball to right center field.
