Hickory Crawdads Blanked by Greenville

The Hickory Crawdads dropped Friday night’s game 5-0 to the Greenville Drive.

Ben Anderson made his return to the mound after missing over a year due to Tommy John surgery. Anderson tossed 2.1 innings, allowing two hits and an unearned run as Angel Aponte missed a diving catch.

Leury Tejada entered in relief, allowing three runs over four innings of work.

Nick Lockhart handled the seventh and eighth innings and Larson Kindreich tossed the ninth, allowing a run.

The ‘Dads didn’t get much offense going, managing just five hits, all from two players. Wyatt Langford got two singles and a double while Ben Blackwell got two singles.

The loss drops the Crawdads to 33-18 on the second half of the season. They wrap up the series against Greenville with games Saturday and Sunday. Hickory will then travel to Greensboro next week.
