The Hickory Crawdads are excited to announce their 2024 game schedule. The team will start the season on Friday, April 5th in Rome and will return to Hickory for the home opener on Tuesday, April 9th against the Jersey Shore BlueClaws.
The ‘Dads will play 132 games next season, 66 on the road and 66 at LP Frans Stadium. The Crawdads will hit the road for twelve series and will host twelve series.
Ten six-game home series from Tuesday-Sunday are on the schedule, as well as two three-game series. The Crawdads will be home Monday, July 1st through Wednesday, July 3rd before traveling to Winston-Salem for three road games to close the week. The second three-game homestand is set for Friday, July 19th through Sunday, July 21st, following the league’s four days off to align with Major League Baseball’s All-Star Break.
In total the Crawdads will travel 5,428 miles between stadiums on eleven road trips. In comparison, the team traveled 4,846 miles in 2023 on nine road trips.
The Crawdads will face every team in the South Atlantic League’s Southern Division at least once at home and once on the road. The Northern Division will only send three teams to Hickory with Jersey Shore visiting for Opening Week, Greensboro stopping by for six in May and three in July, and Aberdeen coming through in August. The ‘Dads will have three road series in Northern Division ballparks: Aberdeen, Greensboro, and Hudson Valley.
