Hickory City Council Meets, Various Items Approved, Christmas Tree Lighting Cancelled

Hickory City Council met in regular session Tuesday (November 17). City Manager Warren Wood announced that the City’s Christmas Tree Lighting has been cancelled in the interest of public safety. Minutes, second readings, and the consent agenda were all approved. Kari Dunlap of Martin Starnes & Associates presented the City’s Annual Audit.

Following three public hearings, City Council approved the following items: a voluntary non-contiguous annexation of 18.264 acres owned by Futuro LLC and Corbin Harline at the NE and SE corners of Snow Creek Rd and 25th St Pl NE and 25th St NE, a Rezoning Petition 20-03 of 18.264 acres of property located at the NE and SE corners of Snow Creek Rd and 25th St Pl NE and 25th St NE, and a resolution approving the financing terms and acceptance of the bank bid from BB&T for the Multiple General Fund Projects Installment Purchase Financing.

In addition, Community Navigator Casey McCall presented an update on homelessness in Hickory.
