Hickory City Council Meets, Approves Rezoning Petition

Hickory City Council met in regular session Tuesday night (September 20). Minutes, second readings, and the consent agenda were all unanimously approved.

Community Development Manager Karen Dickerson presented the Fiscal Year 2021-2022 Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (CAPER). The report was approved by Council. Planning Director Brian Frazier presented a Rezoning Petition for property at 432 Catawba Valley Boulevard SE from R-1 Residential to R-2 Residential. The item was approved by City Council. In addition, members were appointed to boards and commissions.

Mayor Hank Guess presented a proclamation to Centro Latino for Hispanic Heritage Month. Also Tuesday night, Street Maintenance Supervisor Bobby Hatley was recognized for finishing 1st in the American Public Works Association’s (APWA) National Excavator Competition, 3rd in their National Backhoe Competition, and 2nd in their Overall National Competition.
