HICKORY, N.C. (WHKY) – Hickory City Council recognized several accomplishments during its meeting Tuesday night (July 21).

Council presented a proclamation honoring the Hickory High School girls soccer team for winning the state championship. Assistant Public Works Director Caroline Kone was also recognized after being named the Professional Engineers of North Carolina’s Government Engineer of the Year.

In other action, Council approved a Rezoning Petition changing the zoning of property at 929 9th Street Drive Northeast from Industrial to High Density Residential.

Council members also unanimously approved the meeting minutes, second readings of agenda items and the consent agenda.
