Hickory City Council met Tuesday evening (April 6). During the meeting, Kathy Scheller, director of government relations for MetroNet, gave a special presentation announcing a partnership between the City and MetroNet that will bring MetroNet’s 100% fiber optic internet, TV, and phone services to Hickory.
As part of the agreement, MetroNet will invest more than $36 million in the city and surrounding community while bringing fiber-to-the-home directly to residents. This investment by MetroNet will expand the service offerings in area by providing the fiber optic connectivity our community needs to be an ideal location for both businesses and residents.
At Monday’s (April 6) Catawba County Board of Commissioners meeting, a public hearing was held regarding the proposed Southeastern Catawba County Water & Sewer District. The Policy & Public Works Subcommittee requested that the board adopted the resolution to create the district. The item was approved.
