25-year-old Justice Elijah Malik Batts of 6th Street SE in Hickory was arrested Tuesday (December 6) by Catawba County Sheriff’s Officers. He’s charged with trafficking, opium or heroin, maintaining a place for controlled substance, and possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver heroin. Batts was incarcerated in the Catawba County Detention Facility under $10,000 bond. A District Court date was scheduled today (December 7).
