Heavy Rains Force Changes in Parking at North Wilkesboro

Approximately 4 inches of rain fell within two hours on Saturday at North Wilkesboro Speedway. After property inspection, up to 40 percent of speedway-owned parking is currently unusable. To allow for additional drying time, deliver gravel and shore up low spots, NWS is changing the schedule for tomorrow’s race events and adjusting parking recommendations.

On-site parking lots will now open along with the Fan Zone at 10 a.m. Entry gates will open at 10:30 a.m. and the Wright Brand 250 NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series race will begin at 11:30 a.m. The Warren Zeiders pre-race concert is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., followed by the All-Star Open at 5:30 and the NASCAR All-Star Race at 8:00 p.m.

Fans are asked to CARPOOL to the speedway, and to respect the parking lot open time of 10:00 a.m. in order to allow repair time for the areas. Fans are also asked to be aware that they may be redirected to a different lot or area than the one originally purchased in advance.

With the support of Wilkes County Community College and bus donations from Wilkes County Boy Scout troops, NWS will operate remote parking for all LOT 1 advance-parking ticketholders. Fans with LOT 1 parking passes should go directly to Wilkes Co. Community College for a complimentary shuttle to/from the speedway starting at 9 a.m. The Wilkes County Community College address is 1306 South Collegiate Drive in Wilkesboro.
