Hazardous Waste Disposal Event Scheduled In Caldwell County

Caldwell County will hold its annual Household Hazardous Waste Disposal and Shred Event on Saturday, October 7, from 8 a.m. until noon at Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute. To access the event, residents should enter CCC&TI from Mount Herman Road.

This free one-day event gives Caldwell County residents the opportunity to shred unwanted documents and dispose of household hazardous waste and electronics. In addition to household hazardous waste, the Register of Deeds will offer free shredding and the Caldwell County Facility Services will take unwanted electronics.

Certified companies, who will ensure proper handling and disposal of the waste collected, will be on site accepting items such as: household cleaners, paint products, automotive products, pesticides, fertilizers, kerosene, batteries, pool chemicals, mercury thermometers, and fluorescent tubes.

The free event is sponsored by EcoFlo, Stat, Inc., The North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Caldwell County Register of Deeds, and North Carolina Cooperative Extension.
