54-year-old Anthony Richard Rivers of Boundary Lane in Harmony was arrested Tuesday (July 28) by Iredell County Sheriff’s Officers. He’s charged with felony possession with intent to sell or deliver schedule II controlled substance (crack cocaine). He was also served with a federal arrest warrant charging him with the same offense.
On Tuesday, Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Investigators with assistance from Warrant Squad Deputies arrested Rivers at his residence. He was the focus of an investigation being conducted in connection to the sale and distribution of crack cocaine in northern Iredell County.
The charges stem from previous contacts with Rivers, along with two narcotics search warrants which had been executed at his residence. Sheriff Darren Campbell said Rivers is currently out on bond after previously being arrested on a crack cocaine charge.
Bond on the local charges was set at $50,000 seucred. A hold order was issued pending his first appearance in Federal Court in the Western District of North Carolina. His next District Court appearance in Statesville is scheduled for August 18.
