Hamlet, N.C. Woman Charged With Firearm & Drug Offenses In Burke County

34-year-old Brittany Dawn Driggers of Hamlet, N.C. was arrested Wednesday (January 3) by Morganton Public Safety Officers. She’s charged in Burke County with felony possession of a stolen firearm and misdemeanor simple possession of schedule VI controlled substance.

Wednesday at 9:55 a.m. a Public Safety Officer was dispatched to a room at a lodging establishment on Bush Drive in Morganton. The officer was sent to that location to assist EMS with a possible overdose. The individual being assisted by EMS, Brittany Driggers, was not given any narcan. A man was also at the scene prior to the arrival of the officer, but he left before their arrival.

Police reports show the discovery of one gram of marijuana at the scene. The suspect was arrested and brought to the Burke County Jail on the previously mentioned charges along with counts of failure to appear on a felony and failure to appear for failure to comply.

Driggers is charged in Catawba County with felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. A Superior Court date is set for February 5 on those charges. Bond for Driggers was set at $16,000 secured following Wednesday’s arrest. She was not listed as an inmate in Burke County as of earlier today (January 5). A District Court date is set for January 25 in Morganton.
