Greensboro Man Arrested in Hickory on Heroin & Meth Charges

24-year-old Austin Tate Mullins of Greensboro was arrested by Hickory Police just before ten o’clock last night (December 29) on one felony count each of possession of heroin and possession of a schedule II controlled substance, along with misdemeanor counts of possession of marijuana up to half an ounce and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also served with an out-of-state felony warrant as a fugitive awaiting extradition to another state.

He was arrested when Hickory Police saw a suspicious vehicle as they patrolled the parking lot at a hotel on Lenoir-Rhyne Boulevard S.E. The driver was identified as Austin Tate Mullins, who had an outstanding warrant fugitive warrant. During the arrest, Officers found 3.8 grams of methamphetamine, 0.3 grams of heroin, 4.1 grams of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.

Mullins was taken into custody without incident at the hotel. He was jailed in the Catawba Co. Detention Facility with bond set at $25,000, secured. A first appearance in District Court is coming up tomorrow in Newton.
