36-year-old Carey James Caldwell, Jr. of Summit Avenue in Granite Falls was arrested by Granite Falls Police yesterday (January 10) on felony counts of uttering a forged endorsement and obtaining property by false pretenses. He was also charged with four count of failure to appear.
Caldwell was taken to the Caldwell Co. Detention Center with bond set at $31,000, secured. He was scheduled to appear in District Court today in Lenoir. It’s not clear on which charges Caldwell failed to appear in court, but he was scheduled to appear in Superior Court today on charges for armed robbery and conspiracy to commit armed robbery, and he has another District Court date coming up on January 27 on misdemeanor larceny and injury to property charges, all in Lenoir.
