22-year-old Jason Christopher Wieczorek of Gunpowder Road in Granite Falls was arrested yesterday (September 11) by Catawba County Sheriff’s Officers on a felony warrant as a fugitive awaiting extradition to another state. He is wanted by the Omaha Police Department in Douglas County, Nebraska on two counts of first-degree sexual assault of a minor and three counts of visually depicting sexually explicit conduct which has a child as one of its participants or portrayed observers. The warrant was issued in December of last year.

Following his arrest, Wieczorek was jailed in the Catawba County Detention Facility with bond set at $500,000, secured. A first appearance in District Court was scheduled today in Newton.
