Granite Falls Man Arrested in Hickory on Multiple Felony & Failure to Appear Charges

35-year-old Christopher Michael Martin of Carter Court in Granite Falls was arrested by Hickory Police Monday night (November 15) on felony counts of obtaining property by false pretenses and possession of heroin, along with a misdemeanor count of resisting a public officer. Martin was also charged with failure to appear on charges of second-degree trespassing and misdemeanor larceny.

The suspect was taken into custody without incident at about 9:20 p.m. Monday at a convenience store and gas station on Highway 70 S.W. in Hickory. Martin was jailed in the Catawba County Detention Facility under a $12,500 secured bond. He remained in jail as of this morning (November 17). A first appearance in District Court was scheduled yesterday in Newton with another court date on the failure to appear charges scheduled for December 8.
