G.H.C.C.M. to Close Thrift Store

The Greater Hickory Cooperative Christian Ministry (G.H.C.C.M.) has announced plans to close its “31 Thrift and MORE!” store. The ministry intends to focus on health care, pharmacy, dental services, crisis intervention, and offering pathways out of poverty. A press release issued by G.H.C.C.M. states that the decision was made to allow the ministry to assist in improving life’s circumstances without duplicating services currently available in the area.

A going out of business sale was slated to begin today (December 14). Funds raised through the sale will go directly to support the continued mission of G.H.C.C.M. The store is located at 31 1st Avenue S.E. in Hickory.

G.H.C.C.M. has also announced a partnership with Kintegra Health. Kintegra will operate a family medicine practice at the former “31 Thrift and MORE!” location, with plans to open after renovations are complete. The practice will offer medical, behavioral health, and other supportive services. To learn more about Kintegra, visit kintegra.org.
