HICKORY — FryeCare Gastroenterology has added an experienced nurse practitioner to its medical team.
Frye Physicians Network announced that Genevieve Morales, FNP-C, has joined FryeCare Gastroenterology and is now seeing patients at the practice’s Tate Boulevard location in Hickory.

Morales specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of gastrointestinal and liver conditions, including cirrhosis, inflammatory bowel disease, gastroesophageal reflux disease, dysphagia and irritable bowel syndrome.

According to FryeCare, Morales brings more than six years of advanced practice experience, including more than four years specializing in gastroenterology and hepatology in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Before joining FryeCare, Morales worked as a family nurse practitioner with Rutherford Regional Health System in Rutherfordton. She also previously practiced with Gastroenterology Associates in Hickory and with Atrium Health, serving patients in Cleveland and Shelby.

Morales said she is passionate about helping patients better understand and manage gastrointestinal conditions while building long-term relationships and providing personalized care close to home.

She earned a master’s degree in nursing from Frontier Nursing University in Kentucky and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs. Morales also maintains certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Basic Life Support and CPR.
