Friday Morning COVID-19 Update: Virus-Related Deaths Reported In Catawba County Thursday, New Cases In All Four Hickory Metro Counties

Two COVID-19-related deaths were reported Thursday (November 26) by Catawba County health officials, increasing the total to 93. 78 new cases of the coronavirus were reported Thursday by Catawba County Public Health, increasing the total to 6,696. 56 people were hospitalized with COVID in Catawba County.

21 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Caldwell County Thursday, lifting the total to 3,444, with 45 deaths. There were 25 people hospitalized with the coronavirus in Caldwell County. Caldwell County health officials reported four coronavirus-associated deaths on Wednesday, all of the patients reportedly had underlying health conditions.

The Burke County COVID-19 dashboard showed 4,050 cases this morning (November 27), an increase of 26 since the last update issued by the county. There have been 67 coronavirus-associated deaths in Burke County and 20 people were hospitalized.

According the the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services. Alexander County has 1,537 coronavirus cases, 39 more than the last update. There have been 15 virus-related deaths in Alexander County.
