49 new cases of COVID-19 were reported Thursday (October 15) by Catawba County Public Health, lifting the overall total to 3,777, with 61 deaths. 21 people are hospitalized, three fewer than Wednesday (October 14).
A COVID-19-related death was reported Thursday by the Alexander County Health Department, it’s the ninth coronavirus-associated fatality in the county. In addition, 13 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed yesterday, raising the total to 625. There were four people in the hospital, 85 patients were quarantined, and at least 527 people had recovered.
23 new cases of COVID-19 were reported Thursday in Burke County, increasing the total to 2,743, with 51 deaths. There were nine people hospitalized with the coronavirus in Burke County.
22 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Caldwell County Thursday, raising the overall total to 2,084, with 30 deaths. There were 12 Caldwell County residents hospitalized. The Caldwell County Health Department said in the Thursday news release that the county has experienced an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in October. So far this month, the county is averaging 28.54 new cases per day.
