Friday Morning COVID-19 Update: Hospitalizations Fall To One In Catawba County, New Cases Reported In All Four Hickory Metro Counties

COVID-19 hospitalizations dropped to one person in Catawba County Thursday (September 24), the first time the total has been in single digits since September 10. The total is ten fewer than the amount of hospitalizations reported Wednesday (September 23) by Catawba County Public Health. There were 30 new cases of the coronavirus reported Thursday in Catawba County, raising the overall total to 3,082, with 53 deaths.

19 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed Thursday in Burke County, increasing the total to 2,332, with 43 deaths. There were ten people hospitalized with the coronavirus in Burke County. 14 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed Thursday in Alexander County, increasing the total to 509, with seven deaths. There were three people hospitalized.

12 new coronavirus infections were reported Thursday in Caldwell County, raising the total to 1,660, with 28 deaths. There were 21 Caldwell County residents hospitalized with COVID-19.
