Burke County Public Health reported three coronavirus-associated deaths Thursday, increasing the total to 70 since the start of the pandemic. Two individuals were in their 80s and one was in their 50s. All three were hospitalized. 34 new cases of COVID-19 were reported Thursday in Burke County, increasing the total to 4,396. There were 15 people hospitalized with the virus in Burke County.
33 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed Thursday in Caldwell County, raising the total to 3,724, with 50 deaths. There were 25 people hospitalized with the coronavirus. The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services reports that there have been 1,700 cases of COVID in Alexander County since the start of the pandemic. There have been 19 coronavirus-related deaths in Alexander County.
