NEWTON, N.C. (WHKY) – A woman is facing multiple fraud and theft charges following an investigation by the Newton Police Department. According to court records, 40-year-old Melissa Marie Minteer of West 15th Street in Newton is charged with financial card theft, identity theft, financial card fraud, food stamp fraud, misdemeanor larceny, and obtaining property by false pretenses.

Minteer was incarcerated in the Catawba County Detention Facility under $10,000 bond. Court records list August 18 as the next court date.
