Four Suspects Wanted on Felony Warrants from Unicoi Co., Tennessee

25-year-old Chad Austin Hughes of Bessemer City, 42-year-old Shawn Elizabeth Styers of Gastonia, 18-year-old Okeem Lamar Hunter of Gastonia, and 18-year-old Chase Austin Simmons of Dallas NC were arrested Wednesday (March 6) by Caldwell County Sheriff’s Officers.

All four suspects were arrested on felony warrants as fugitives awaiting extradition to Unicoi County, Tennessee. Hughes has charges in Tennessee for six felony counts each of evading arrest and reckless endangerment. He also has single counts of resisting a public officer and theft of property. Styers, Hunter, and Simmons are all charged with felony shoplifting in Tennessee. Hughes is also charged with fleeing to elude arrest with a motor vehicle and jailed under $150,000 secured bond. Styers was charged with felony possession of methamphetamine and jailed under $75,000 secured bond. Hunter and Simmons were both jailed under $50,000 secured bond on the single count of fugitive extradition to another state.

Chad Austin Hughes, Shawn Elizabeth Styers, Okeem Lamar Hunter, and Chase Austin Simmons remained in jail as of this morning in the Caldwell County Detention Center with District Court appearances scheduled for today (March 7).
