Four Suspects Arrested on Felony Meth Charges in Iredell County
30-year-old Eugenio Mata Carbajal and 26-year-old Eva Mata Carbajal, both of the same address on Deep Water Road, along with 26-year-old Chance Tyler Odell and 52-year-old Mark Anthony Wallace, both of the same address on Fox Run Drive, all from Statesville, have been arrested by Iredell County Sheriff’s Officers on multiple felony drug charges.
All four suspects were charged with felony counts of manufacturing methamphetamine and conspiracy to sell meth. In addition, the Carbajals were each charged with felony counts of possession of meth and possession with intent to manufacture meth.
They were arrested yesterday (April 19) when Officers executed search warrants at both addresses. The search warrants were issued after Narcotics Investigators received information that the occupants of both residences were possibly manufacturing crystal meth and distributing narcotics in the area. Undercover Investigators conducted surveillance operations in the area and obtained the evidence necessary to obtain the warrants.
The search led to the discovery of “shake & bake” crystal meth and items used to manufacture the narcotics at the Deep Water Road residence. At the same residence, Investigators also found a burn pile consisting of small traces or pieces of evidence that indicated an attempt to destroy a meth lab. In addition, Investigators found three 10-gallon air compressors, a six-gallon air compressor, a pressure washer, and a four-piece sectional outdoor dining set. Investigators believe those items were stolen from Walmart. Officers contacted Walmart to confirm that the items were missing from their inventory.
Following the arrests, all the suspects were jailed in the Iredell County Detention Center. Bond for the Carbajals was set at $125,000, secured, while Odell and Wallace were each given a $75,000 secured bond. All four suspects will appear in District Court on May 10.
